You hold your own funds the whole time, the leader can't touch them, and you can stop copying whenever you want. Results vary with timing, slippage, and your limits, and a leader's past performance doesn't guarantee future results.

Can a copy-trading leader take my money?

They can't. Their trades are copied into your wallet, but they can't withdraw or move your balance. Your only exposure is ordinary trading risk: losses on the positions being mirrored.

What is liquidation, and how do I avoid it?

Liquidation is when a leveraged position loses enough that your margin falls below the maintenance level, and the position closes automatically. Higher leverage liquidates sooner. Lower leverage, extra margin, and stop-losses give you more room, but nothing rules it out.
