How to Trade SpaceX Stock (SPCX): Nasdaq Hours or 24/7 On-Chain

SpaceX went public on June 12, 2026 — the largest IPO in history — and trades on Nasdaq as SPCX. This guide covers both ways to trade it: buying shares through a brokerage, and trading the xyz:SPCX perpetual on Hyperliquid, which follows the price around the clock from a self-custody wallet.

How to Trade SpaceX Stock (SPCX): Nasdaq Hours or 24/7 On-Chain

Points clés

  • SpaceX is public now. It listed on Nasdaq on June 12, 2026 under the ticker SPCX, in the largest IPO ever priced — around a $1.77 trillion valuation, raising roughly $75 billion.
  • There are two ways to trade it. Shares through a brokerage give you actual equity, during US market hours. The xyz:SPCX perpetual on Hyperliquid gives you price exposure 24/7, long or short, with leverage, from a self-custody wallet.
  • The perpetual is not the share. No dividends, no voting rights, no claim on the company — your profit and loss come from the price moving, nothing else.
  • The 24/7 side matters more for SpaceX than for most stocks: launches, Starlink announcements and Musk headlines rarely respect Nasdaq hours.
  • Watch out for fakes. Now that a real SPCX ticker exists, sites selling unrelated "SpaceX tokens" are easier to spot — the only on-chain SpaceX market covered here is the xyz:SPCX perpetual visible on the public order book.

SpaceX Is Public Now: The June 2026 IPO

For years, “how to buy SpaceX stock” had a frustrating answer: you couldn’t. That ended on June 12, 2026, when SpaceX listed on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX in the largest IPO ever priced — a valuation around $1.77 trillion, raising roughly $75 billion (Wikipedia — Initial public offering of SpaceX).

The debut matched the anticipation. Priced at $135, the stock opened at $150, finished its first session near $161, and climbed another 20% in its first full trading day, putting SpaceX among the most valuable listed companies in the world (CNBC — SpaceX stock jumps 20% in first full day of trading after record debut).

If you read older guides
Anything written before June 2026 — including an earlier version of this page — will tell you SpaceX is private and its stock can’t be bought. That was true then. It isn’t anymore.

Two Ways to Trade It: Shares vs. the Perpetual

Now that SPCX exists, you have a genuine choice, and the right one depends on what you are trying to do.

SPCX shares (brokerage)

Real equity: you own a piece of the company, with whatever rights that carries. Requires a brokerage account and KYC, trades during US market hours, and shorting needs a margin account. The right tool for long-term ownership.

xyz:SPCX perpetual (Hyperliquid)

Price exposure: a contract that follows the SPCX price via an oracle, tradable 24/7 from a self-custody wallet. Long or short, leverage available, no account or KYC. The right tool for trading the price — especially outside market hours.

The reason the second path exists at all: SpaceX news doesn’t keep market hours. Launches happen at night. Starlink numbers and Musk posts land on weekends. Share traders wait for the open; the perpetual reprices immediately. See the live SPCX market page for the streaming price and 24-hour chart.

Trading xyz:SPCX on Dexly, Step by Step

The SPCX perpetual lives on Hyperliquid’s xyz equities dex, deployed under the HIP-3 framework (Hyperliquid Docs — HIP-3 (builder-deployed perpetuals)). Dexly is a non-custodial interface for trading it:

  • Fund a wallet with USDC on Arbitrum. That is the collateral for every position; no exchange deposit involved.
  • Open the market. Connect on dexly.trade or in the app and search SPCX — the live order book opens.
  • Set the trade. Side, size, leverage; attach a take-profit and stop-loss so the position manages itself. If perps are new to you, start with perps trading basics.

What the Perpetual Is — and Is Not

Worth stating plainly, because this line matters more than any feature: the perpetual tracks the price of SPCX. It is not a share. No dividends, no voting rights, no claim on SpaceX the company. Your entire result comes from where the price goes after you open the position — in either direction.

Fake 'SpaceX tokens' didn't disappear after the IPO
Sites selling unrelated “SpaceX coins” still exist. The difference now is that verification is easy: the real stock is SPCX on Nasdaq, and the real on-chain market is the xyz:SPCX perpetual, visible on Hyperliquid’s public order book. Anything else deserves deep suspicion — and never connect a wallet to a site you can’t verify. (What non-custodial means.)

Risk, Funding and the Takeaway

Perpetuals are leveraged instruments. A leveraged SPCX position that moves far enough against you gets liquidated, and the margin behind it is lost — newly-listed stocks with heavy retail attention can move violently in both directions. Funding payments also accrue while positions stay open. Size accordingly, use stops, and treat leverage as a tool rather than a default.

The takeaway: SpaceX finally has a ticker, and you have two ways to trade it. Equity through a brokerage if you want ownership; the xyz:SPCX perpetual if you want the price, around the clock, from your own wallet. The rest of the equity-style markets on Hyperliquid are on the US stocks page.

Trading perpetuals involves leverage, liquidation and total-loss risk; availability depends on your jurisdiction. IPO facts verified 2026-07-15.
